FLI-MAP Fx Projects Meet Client Expectations of Density, Cost, and Schedule.
Fugro Horizons, Inc. has successfully completed three recent FLI-MAP Fx jobs. All three projects were considered a success in meeting client expectations of density, cost, and schedule. Fugro Horizons is currently working on several more FLI-MAP Fx projects and successfully meeting very strenuous specifications. The FLI-MAP Fx system is proving to be a very cost-effective alternative to achieve 1’ contours and high density LiDAR data with reduced ground control requirements.
- In support of a hydrology study in Larimer County, CO, LiDAR data meeting 1’ contour standards (8 cm RMSE) was acquired for the creation of a Digital Terrain Model (DTM). Six inch Ground Sample Distance (GSD) color orthophotography was also created over the 6.41 square mile FEMA study.
- A new 1’ contour DTM will be used to support a site elevation study for a new Hydrogen Processing Plant project in Stark County, located just southwest of Dickinson, ND. The 4 square mile (2,412 acres) DTM was developed from FLI-MAP Fx LiDAR acquisition data for South Heart Energy Development, LLC.
- A new 2’ contour DTM was produced for a floodplain mapping project using FEMA specifications over a 6.24 square mile area for Weber County, UT. The County will use this information in an effort to improve public safety, prevent property damage, and protect the natural floodplain environment.
